Formed in 2000, this group of about 30 members is enthusiastically gathering resources and is prepared to share knowledge and assist others with research into genealogy and family history. The group is affiliated with the Royal Australian Historical Society and was incorporated in 2002.
Objectives:
- To foster an interest in genealogy and family history
- To assist members in these pursuits
- To provide facilities for research
- To cooperate with kindred organizations
We have a resource room in the Port Stephens Council's Library in the Community Centre at Town Centre Circuit, Salamander Bay, NSW 2317.

We are interested in both family history in the local area, and members interests world wide. Members work on both group and individual projects. The group includes those with long experience of family history research and those who are just beginning -
New members are very welcome.
Yearly fee - $30.00
